Nanostructured Material

Processing

Aegis Technology uses various process techniques for the fabrication of nanomaterials and nanocomposites.  These techniques include cryogenic ball milling for the synthesis of nanostructured powders which can be used as constituent materials for protection coatings, high-strength alloys, composites, magnetic devices, batteries, and thermoelectric devices.  Aegis Technology has also developed techniques to consolidate various bulk nanostructured materials using hot isostatic pressing (HIP) and forging.

Aegis Technology equipment and facilities include the following:

  • Air Furnace
  • Attritor systems
  • Computer systems with FEA and AutoCAD software
  • Degassing system
  • Glovebox system
  • Hot isostatic press
  • Isotemp Oven
  • Power electronics testing laboratory
  • Screen printer
  • Thermal, mechanical, and electrical characterization equipment
  • Vacuum and controlled-atmosphere furnace
  • Wire bonder
