Nanostructured Electrode Materials for Batteries
Aegis Technology has successfully developed a cost-effective process to synthesize high-performance nanocomposites for use in the next generation of anodes and cathodes for Li-ion batteries. These new nanocomposites provide higher energy densities, higher capacities, better stability, lower costs, and lower toxicity compared with conventional materials used in today’s Li-ion batteries. The materials include lithium cobalt phosphate (LiCoPO4), lithium cobalt manganese phosphate (LCMP), lithium cobalt nickel phosphate (LCNP), and lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4).
Nanopowders used as battery electrode materials:
(a) LiCoPO4 (LCP)
(b) LiCo(0.9)Mn(0.1)PO4 (LCMP)
(c) LiCo(0.9)Ni(0.1)PO4(LCNP)
(d) LiFePO4 (LFP)
